One clarification, hitting once on hook has a practical purpose sometimes. It silences the scream early, which can help you hear if someone else is nearby. Or if the killer just finds the scream annoying.
True but thats too niche of a reason to do it when the survivor is gonna think you're being toxic, no survivor will get hit on the hook and think the killer just want to silence the scream. As a killer I hate the screams and really love calm spirit players 😂 but I still don't hit on hook because of how it will be preceived, unless I want to be toxic back to a toxic survivor ofc.
The classic love tap on hook to shush them. I have been doing it since 2017, and let me tell you the only disadvantage is you lose a bit of speed and that sometimes it can cost you dearly. So only do it when you don't know where you have to go next and never during endgame.
As for “tunneling”, it’s more so coincidence for me, sometimes I just see the same survivor 3 times in a row, and I feel bed when they think I am tunneling
Playing both sides is key to understanding toxcicity. I play 80/20 survivor mostly and rarely run into toxic killers(mostly getting hit on hook) but I don't let this bother me. I've also have had teammates in SoloQ trying to make life hell for the killer. Not doing gens, but super blinds and teabags. Regardless, I enjoy the game a lot. Not taking it too seriously and respecting others is key. Well stated points. Subbed, yo.
@ Yeah, but hitting more than once is actually just toxic tbh. (also, i wish i could remove screaming in general. it doesn't even give any advantages other than not giving me tinnitus for a whole minute...)
im a girl trickster main and i face toxicity in this game not only from angry survivors, but also from players who just hate the killer i play. Starting out with immediate exposure to toxicity, i instantly developed an innate HATE for survivor mains. this is the result of the constant out-of-line toxic comments and harassment on endgame chat, my steam profile, and on my social media clips of literally just me playing trickster and being a girl. yes, in a video game with no voice comms. I started running lightborn every build and slapping survivors on hook when try to "bully squad" me. i'd say horrible things in endgame chat. i felt it was justifiable for their actions and all i've had to go through. I didn't want to be a 'nice killer'. *How could I have any shred of respect for the other side?* But slowly, over time, my toxicity faded away. I tried playing survivor and felt the pain of getting tunneled by a nurse, the helpless feeling of being basement camped by bubba, etc. But honestly, it's not that deep. It's just how the game is. it's in the game. I'll always get tricki hate comment, and survivors will always mald. I stopped wasting my own time slapping ppl on hook or writing 5 paragraph essays in endgame chat in retaliation. The solution is to stop giving a f###, for both sides. And because as i reached P100 and beyond, I learned that all this harrassment is just... the weakest form of human mental. Uncontrolled emotions. Survivors are frustrated that my trickster denied their loop games. Frustrated that they couldn't counter me. Spite about losing. On my part, spite that they judge me based on a killer choice rather than the thousands of hours i've put on his aim. But the truth is, toxicity is exhausting and self-degrading, your reactions and decision to type such comments reveal the weakness of your mental strength and capacity. and again, overtime, we all just gotta stop giving a f###.
also respect for maining Trickster you gotta be dedicated and have a strong mental against all the prejudice and i think thats really cool. a girl too on top of that, jeez man :)
Toxicity is prevalent in DBD but it helps to know the pains and great annoyances there are playing this game, it makes you feel that the toxicity is less personal and more of weak individuals unable to control their fraustrations, this way you can stop getting hurt by toxicity and may even feel sympathy for those being toxic because they may be breaking down. Watching chill streamers helped me a ton, they sometimes camp, tunnel and slug to win but they understand how fraustrating it can be to the survivors so they just dont get hurt by any toxicity in the return, sometimes I be losing as killer so I tunnel the worst survivor so I may come back, I feel sorry for them because I have been there A LOT and if they complain in the end game chat I understand, but after all its the design of the game. All this doesn't deny the existence of malicious toxicity not due to fraustration but just shitty asshole humans. Last weird thing is that toxicity often hurt more if the toxic player is better at the game, I feel that I'm not able to get the revenge on them which angers me, so I think DCing is the best solution out of such matches, you get suspension which is a good time to calm down, and you get lower mmr too. On the other hand toxicity from players I'm rolling is like an annoying fly that I kill anyway 😂
"I'm a girl..." Reminds me of that one reaction image where guys just take a photo of a thing but girls need to put themselves in frame when they post an image of a thing. You being a girl is irrelevant
I experience this myself. I genuinely get survivors who'd rather dc against me playing as Trickster which is fine, I have no problem with that. I understand not wanting to go against certain killers we may not like, I have certain killers I don't enjoy going against myself. However, I've had people leave nasty comments to me on my social media for sharing my Trickster gameplay as well. I don't go out of my way to make people's lives miserable intentionally during my gameplay, I just play the game and enjoy playing my favorite killer. I've had people write long paragraphs to me on my social media, telling me that my playstyle is not good, that they're better than me, telling me they hate me, complaining about how much they hate him and how much I am a terrible person for maining him which is absolutely ridiculous. It got to the point to where I had to filter my comments and sometimes disable them to prevent further harassment. Its one thing to dislike certain things in video games but that doesn't give people the right to take things so personal or go out of their way to harass people, especially outside of the game. Its even more crazier that they decided to watch my gameplay videos just to complain about it when they have the choice not to watch it. As far as end game chat, I never read them because there's really no point to. The game is over and any hate coming from the other side is not relevant to me, and people get upset at the game regardless because certain things don't go their way, but we're also allowed to play how we want and who we want as well.
@depippy I feel you my friend, the trickster hate is never ending. i could go on and on about how some people just have no life to the point they care so much what someone else wants to play in a video game. I see Wacek and other tricki mains get the same treatment no matter what. One great example is Xiu's video on trickster hate, you can watch that to see how serious ppl are. Listen, it's not just trickster. ppl/survivors will hate on any killer they experienced who cant "counter and escape or loop for 5 gens". Always remember that you, or trickster, is never the problem. it's their frustrated mental. especially like you are not toxic either. You're doing great and sticking to what you like and honestly i find that insanely cool. The tricki hate only escalated since the bad rework last year making people assume he's brain dead (really? compared to nurse where u only TP anywhere? right.) On top of that trickster is loud, flashy, and looks stylish while chipping at their screen. Trickster denies their little loop games. it pulls some ppl the wrong way. I personally enjoy reading endgame chat, without responding. I know i've won and made them want to explode mentally when they rage their butts off lol. it fuels me to keep queuing. HOWEVER he's getting that rework again soon. So keep your hopes up, eyes will be on him, more ppl will return to him and see him for what he really could be
In short: Annoying acts that serve you no gameplay purpose = Toxic Annoying things that actually serve gameplay purpose = Acceptable (Although still annoying so depends on intention I guess)
2k hours, surv main I think about 200 hours of mine was all killer My opinion, toxic is mocking the person. So, hitting on hook multiple times, humping/teabagging and shaking head constantly (depending on situation) and the closing hatch infront of people - that's toxic from killer Toxic from surv, clicking flashlights and teabagging, and spam vaulting For both sides, abusing game bugs that aren't supposed to be there then mocking the otherside, it doesn't make you better it's sad.. Toxic isn't tunneling, camping, or slugging. Toxic isn't doing gens Toxic isn't chasing someone It's playing the game and using the game mechanics that are there (such as sabo, slugging, flashlights and flashbangs, having aura builds or gen builds) I'm aware gens are a current problem bc the devs aren't too good at balancing them. I personally think we should revert the healing perks and medkits, and make gens harder to do.
I agree with everything except camping, I’m a killer main but I still think camping hooks is one of the most toxic things a killer could do (I’m not talking about walking around and coming back to check on it I mean when killers just stand there waiting near the hook using it as bait) I play survivor like 15% of the time and I see this happen pretty often when they haven’t hooked anyone and 2 or 3 gens already popped, it’s rlly obnoxious
@ as if some killers werent specifically designed for this ok. blame the devs for making their kit most optimal for this, dont blame the players. not like a bubba or trickster player should "control himself" not to down multiple ppl and literally confine himself to targetting one at a time to make the game more fun for his enemies. literal brain dissociation. like whats the multiple-down ability used for then? not like they have movement? just IGNORE the unhooker like what?
Great video! But this is a completely subjective topic tbh, everything you claim is “toxic” is not toxic….the only REAL toxic things are when someone takes their frustrations and makes them personal and launches personal attacks against the other side in the end game chat
Exactly this! People like him are almost pushing the toxicity agenda on things that are just available in the game. Abuse outside of the game? Now that’s toxicity.
5:53 not rly? sometimes killer shake head cuz hes happy that he catch someone, i do that sometimes gen rushing is a thing, but its a game mechanic problem and perks not anyones tbh 10:13 sometimes the reason is to trigger the killer, if someone who loops very good does that, the chances are it was technique to lure a killer not be toxic, the rest is just toxic, depends. if its not toxic usually it happens just at the beggining of the chase or something and then there is not rly stuff like that. its attention seeking, and if someone is looper god then its understandable.
Im guilty of tunneling and proxy camping hook many times. Only because i sometimes have survivors swarming hook so i would be a fool to let that slide. The only time i hit survivors on hook are for specific ones that i hate screaming. It can be really annoying and my hearing isn’t that great so i hit them to cut the scream short.
Okay, as a guy that comes and goes to this game on a whim here are my 2 cents about toxicity in this game: *You all are way too oversensitive.* As a Killer the whole objective is to sacrifice a team of four players that have to outsmart and outplay me. Honestly the community's insistance on some sort of ettiquette when it comes to winning is what I consider toxic babyfication of a game. You cry about the weirdest things in a game where you have LITERAL HORROR MONSTERS/KILLERS. God help you as a Killer when you try to scare or roleplay as your favorite horror movie monster. Half the time you get dunked on for letting nobody escape (the main objective of the game) the other time you can expect to get dunked on as Noob Killer for roleplaying a Nemesis that focuses on STARS members first and foremost. I have mostly stopped interacting at all with after-game chat because you just can't please the lot of you! And on a more personal note... ...who are *you* to dictate how another person plays their game. This is a hobby we all play to have fun. Our time is limited. Imagine playing chess and because you take the opponents queen before any other piece you are called a toxic misogynist. (Should have "killed" all the male pieces first you bigot!) Or imagine getting upset in a match of Unreal Tournament (pick one) because people keep nabbing the shield belt and flack cannon before you can get it. (They are YOUR favorite!) Or imagine in Among Us accusing the Impostor of tunnelling. As a casual Killer main let me tell you one thing: Shit I do isn't that deep. If I "tunnel" you then either you kept running infront of my vision or your friends are just better at hiding. If I nod or hit you on the hook after a few minutes of chase that's just acknowledgement that you are good at chase. If I drop chase I'm not avoiding you because you had some LGBTQ thingie on you but because you are probably too good at looping. Or I simply lost track of you. Gods know this shit keeps happening more and more as I get older. If I seem to focus on STARS survivors as Nemesis it's because I want to hear Nemmy say *"StArSsSs!"*. I could go on and on with all these toxic behaviour bulletpoints that have been brought up but I just can't be arsed. TL;DR: Breathe. Take a step back. Not everything revolves around you and by extension not everybody wants to make your day miserable. The other players probably just goof around because they are a horror fan playing a horror game with their favorite horror monster in it. And that's probably *all* there is to this.
As a killer main. When a survivor is hard to catch and tryna loop me constantly. I straight up ignore them and go for their teammates instead and don't give them the satisfaction of a loop plus they're usually tryna distract me whilst their teammates gen rush. So I end up leaving it until only 2 of them remain then I go for them.
I thought hitting on hook was meant to be "You were a hard catch" moment. I always run Lightborn, and nobody can convince me not to. I also sometimes try to lead the Killer somwehere to show them something, like the canker, or show em me doing an invocation cos I doubt many have seen em in action.
Lightborn is completely fine to use, flashlights only serve to waste time honestly. Sure you could save a teammate but there are many ways to counter a save from a flashlight.
Unfortunately on every toxicity related discussion on this game it devolves into an echo-chamber. Ofc here people will agree that the made-up rules some survivors and killers follow are bs but in other places it's a circlejerk of "WAHH WAAAH WAAAAH SLUGGING SHOULD BE BANNABLE WAAAAH" or "WAAAAAH 10320432042 SECOND CHANCE PERKS" Also hitting survivors on hook once is not toxic seeing as survivors like Steve and Lara Croft are scream queens and blow my eardrums out every time I play.
Also yea, another thing is (like another comment here said) to stop giving a fuck. For Killers: If a survivor is literally just there to annoy you, to show you how good they are at loops and how much they can blind you (basically seeking you out or running after you to get attention) .... just pay them no mind. they are not on a generator, they're there to annoy you so focus on the others and dont give a fuck about that guy. For Survivors: If you get for example tunneled and the Killer goes after you EXCLUSIVELY, try wasting his time, make him regret it by taking him to safe loops and maybe a perk as well that extends your hook timer like comraderie. it sucks but at that point its best to just try to waste as much of the killers time and keep him far away from teammates or gens.
I've just started playing Killer due to Ghoul's release and the collab has been nice but I've refused to tunnel or camp and even though I may be selling I will ignore the person who's fresh of the hook and look for someone else, but at the same time I've been told by a friend that being a nice killer can be annoying to some survivors who wanna play,so I just try to play and avoid atleast camping or tunneling so they don't have a completely bad game.
The one time I've been toxic, was against a really bad team, both morally and skill. It was a small map, easy downs, i didn't slug, didn't tunnel, still killed all survivors. Yet they had the audacity to tbag after each pallet, so i hit on hook once, and played twice as aggressive. Deserved in my opinion. Oh, they tried reporting me for tunneling even though i still didn't do that
There was a time were I ran into a bully squad, head-ons, blinds, boon exponental, hook sabos, breakout, and no gens done. Another time they had unbreakable with boil over on dead dog saloon, i could not hook them for the life of me so I had to let them bleed out, second story with no hooks nearby. playing killer is weird sometimes
So I'll chime in the 4 person slugging. I do it when it's called for. When I have survivors trying to bully me and failing miserably if I down all 4 I will stand there and let them bleed out. I'm talking sabotaged every hook, body blocked every carry, tried a flashlight/flashbang on every pickup. So if I down all four I make the choice that I don't feel like I'm trying to win 3 matches in one because of all the second, third, fourth chances they're creating. No thanks. Slug em. Bleed em out "what did you learn?"
you just brough back to my mind one of my most frustrating game , it was a 4 man running only perk for sabotage and making the carry trip hell, every damm time i injured a survivor he ran on one corner of the map (dont remember the name of the map but big one)and there was no way to carry the guy to the closest hook in time all 4 did it and where not even doing gen ,that game ended by a 4 man slug and i received loads of insult in the after game chat for doing that like tf was i suposed to do ?
So, if gen rushing a tactic that requires specific items and perks that compliments their objective not toxic. Then that means it's fine for a killer to bring perks like NOED, Franklin's, Knockout, Lightborn, Starstruck and Devour Hope are perfectly fine and should be accepted
I can't agree with the shaking their head thing, just like survivors tbagging that's not toxic, it's just the way killers and survivors communicate. But it's all depending on context. Sitting around tbagging in the exit gate where you're all safe is pointless and silly, just leave and get the match over. Likewise, WSing as a killer for no reason is also silly. The only true toxicity is the stuff people say in the endgame chat. Telling people to off themselves or calling them slurs, or even more so if you go out of your way to harass people outside the game.
Nice video, I appreciate how you were consistent with your idea of toxicity being wasting time with a player or the game itself. But I personally don't see anything toxic about being goofy or messing around in the game that an individual also paid money for. There are many different kinds of players, not everybody is treating this like a super competitive game. I have a little over 5K hours on PC. I'm like a 70/30 killer player. Other than holding the game hostage, or four-man slugging people and bleeding them out, I think the only real toxic thing you can do is harass people at the end of the game. Everything that happens in the game, it's just that, a game. But when you get into endgame chat and people are treating you like trash because of a way you like to play a game, that's actual toxicity. Killers and survivors who only play one side never understand the perspective of the other. So any action they see as ruining their fun, they deem toxic.
As someone who mostly plays as killer, only things i consider to be toxic is constantly using perks like head on or flashbang to try and get a reaction out of the killer during endgame chat, i have noticed that this type of thing happens when I'm against a twitch streamer that just wants to get rage clips out of me for their RUclips/Twitch content, it didn't make me mad at all, i just found it to be kinda funny despite how annoying it was to face against.
i might be wrong but i think dead by daylight suffer from its change of direction, i started playing the game on release and at first it was more of a party game that you would play with friend ,back in the day the killer was very strong and the gameplay was more of a hide and seek kind of game and this is when the survivor/killer rulebook was put in place because a party game is meant to be played for fun. but now the game feel more like a competion game both side are pretty balenced and no need for those survivor/killer rulebook no more the rest like the teabagging/flashlight clicking/mori in front of the hatch/dropping near the hatch then closing it. it is just bad manner and since the target public is competitive now we cant escape that, personally i havent seen a competitive game that didnt have a toxic community to this day
yeah half of these are completely off base, for instance survivors group bodyblocking isnt toxic? It's bad strategy but it's still strategy. Same with like killer nodding- thats just silly fun. You ever seen a deathslinger nod while reeling in? It's funny to look at. Gives the killer personality.
I think it's context. Imagine having a rough game already, and finally getting a down. Only to have everyone body block you 😅 I think it's funny, a few days ago I played customs (xbox, made a group post) and bc the ppl were always trying super hard, with flashlights, gen rushing, and taking hits, I ran mad grit. Omg the rage the 1 guy had, "SLUGGING, SHES SLUGGING" 😂😂 But in that case I understand it being toxic, cuz if I didn't have mad grit, they alr took 3 downs from me (flashlight saved or picked up when I was trying to hit them to get them away) so at 2 gens that was my first hook, if I didn't have mad grit it would of been 0 But I ended up winning 😊
now i cant speak for the humping and everything, don't the leaving them on the ground is because we don't know if someone has unbreakable, or DS or anything liek this, imagine you 4 slugged, you pick up a surv, the guy on the ground pops his unbreakable and by the time you drop your survivor or hook to chase the survivor, he has picked up the rest of his team or certainly at least one of them. which starts the game all over again, killers leave them on the ground so 1 they cant even use DS, and 2 if someone does pop unbreakable you have the highest chance of countering the perk, its a boring way of dealing with it, but killers dont just leave them on the ground just becuase they can drag the game out. Well most i would say don't.
I have been targeted before because I played Sable she's my main character. I get tunneled a lot and slugs because of it. One time I asked why they tunneled me and they just said because I was playing Sable😅
Same happened to Yui My first main was mikaela but I switched bc they changed her boons and I didn't like many of her cosmetics at the time. I mained yui all the way up til the mystic tome. I had just p100 her, only to become a target bc people didn't like that she get a 2nd tome I went back to mikaela, now I STILL face hate but not as bad as yui (ppl hate her bc she got about 5 cosmetics in 1 year)
Somebody explain to me what is special about Sable or Dwight. As a killer I just go for whoever I happen to find and can catch so I don't even realistically know the differences in Survivor characters, especially since you can run all perks on all Suvs.
Shaking my head is because if you tried something cheeky like a locker save. You're getting nopers lol Erm. I will straight out target survivors I remember from rough games. I had this Adam duo make my life miserable on a Legion game. Caught em in Haddonfield on Clown and he caught the business lol. Call it petty I'm fine with that. I am petty lol
As for Gen rushing. Slugging and proxying is the answer for that. Sometimes you just get optimal survivors who are out to get it done and get it out. If you want to win you have to drag their attention from the gens. You have to apply pressure.
Nice video! Tbh, gen rushing isn’t even a thing… it’s the sole objective for survivors lol that’s so goofy to me. Flashlights aren’t toxic either and I never understood why pple think so!
Funny how I can get a 4k without tunneling, camping or slugging with my killer mains Trapper and Huntress, guess that means I'm not skilled enough to play like trash.
Glad I don't play this. So many rules to follow besides don't cheat. Make sure to babysit all the other people in the lobby so everyone can have a good time. These players are as entitled as league of legends players, and as sensitive as overwatch players
He's survivor sided Sabo hooks and blinding the killer isn't toxic and gen rushing isn't toxic but a killer slugging and tunneling is considered toxic well I'll be a toxic killer then thank you I'll will continue making survivors quit and rage
Ngl not even half way through and most of the stuff you're mentioning is subjective and heavily depends on intention. Like shaking your head when you down someone. It doesn't automatically mean "haha I'm better than you" it like alot of things are situational. It could just mean, "no no i still caught you" after a survivor teabags at every vault or pallets etc. Or if the survivor did something annoying other than teabgaging. You assigning 1 meaning to it doesn't make it true.
toxicity is techincally definition. However i dont think survivors can be toxic really. The way i look at toxicity (outside endgame chat) is killers holding people hostages or camping solely to ruin someones game. Killer slugging survivors for 4 min for no reason other than wasting their time. Is camping always toxic? no ofc not unless ur doign it solely to ruin their game its not toxic. Survivors can be toxic by hiding and wasting the killers time (hiding as in griefing not trying to win or anything). Its not toxic to slug someone, its not toxic to hit a survivor on hook, its not toxic to tbag after a pallet stun. People are snowflakes. Griefing and ruining the game for someone is toxic, and ofc death threats etc. in the endgame chat
See here's the issue with "to ruin someone's game" it's really hard to prove intent. Just because a killer stays near you doesn't mean they want to ruin your game specifically, just because a killer slugged you, doesn't mean they're trying to ruin your game specifically, etc etc. Heck I've been accused of tunneling but showed my proof that I didn't and they shut right up. Not everything is toxic, sometimes "toxic" is just the smart play to make in that moment or the survivors caused it and the killer is just taking advantage of their mistakes.
So bully squads are toxic? Not leaving and spam vaulting to mock a killer isn't toxic? There's plenty survs can do to be aholes. Survs can hide the whole match just to troll and make the killers game a pain. Survs can be arguably more toxic then killer
As I told someone else, it's situational If a killer is down to 2 gens after a long and hard chase or ppl getting flashlight saves. Only for everyone to take hits, it feels too harsh on the killer. Like it's unnecessary which makes it seem toxic It's equal to Bubba face camping, you can't do anything
I'm new to this channel. I play more killer because I'm alone most or the time and solo q is terrible seriously so I play more killer because I'm tired of killers tunneling me so hard and I just go and play alone killer but one thing I do hate and gets on my nerves is if a survivor can't blind me why keep trying so hard two or more times? I wonder what goes in those people's heads sadly and nod my head to survivors yes but not for been toxic it just to tell them no for something that happened or they did and I tell them plus they nod also and say yes for many reasons. We don't have a emotion system to use so we have only yes or no with our heads.
Idk man Flashlights in the hands of some survivors can be toxic. I've been flashed when I go past lockers and survivors jump out using head on, and sometimes it's not just one survivor but multiple for no reason.
Also false accusations. Players especially survivors, need to stop accusing killers of everything. I had a player dm me after the match daying that i tunneled her. But in reality when i firat hooked her i couldve tunneled her but actively chose to not chase her and went after the other person near. Then i found her later on a gen with someone else. That someone lese saw me and ran off but she didnt see me and stayed on the gen so clearly I went after her. She hadnt even healed yet. But she got mad and called me a tunneler.
Anything that people don't want happening to their character :)) LOL pride flag tunneling? f'd up but hilarious, didn't know that was a thing 5:45 though. People like a killer who "has personality" and emotes a bit during the gameplay, I'd say this head shaking isn't too bad.
One clarification, hitting once on hook has a practical purpose sometimes. It silences the scream early, which can help you hear if someone else is nearby. Or if the killer just finds the scream annoying.
want to toss in as a DR main from years ago.
i depend on the audio qeues.
also might mean i think the chase was a good chase!!
i am not ashamed to admit that i smack stevegulls on the hook like dear god shut up
True but thats too niche of a reason to do it when the survivor is gonna think you're being toxic, no survivor will get hit on the hook and think the killer just want to silence the scream.

I only tunnel when it's practical like if someone is on death hook you already know I'm going for them. It's just practical

I dunno if they fixed it, but hitting on hook used to silence the scream. Which was a bug I used a lot because the screams used to hurt my ears.
@@silva7100 I never knew that it stopped screams at one point. I can see how certain survivors screaming could be annoying.
@ Yeah, but hitting more than once is actually just toxic tbh.
(also, i wish i could remove screaming in general. it doesn't even give any advantages other than not giving me tinnitus for a whole minute...)
Guy: plays the game normally and as instructed, tries to win, has fun
The playerbase: that was toxic you broke one of our unwritten rules we made up
im a girl trickster main and i face toxicity in this game not only from angry survivors, but also from players who just hate the killer i play.
I'll always get tricki hate comment, and survivors will always mald. also respect for maining Trickster you gotta be dedicated and have a strong mental against all the prejudice and i think thats really cool. a girl too on top of that, jeez man :)
"I'm a girl..."
Reminds me of that one reaction image where guys just take a photo of a thing but girls need to put themselves in frame when they post an image of a thing.
So keep your hopes up, eyes will be on him, more ppl will return to him and see him for what he really could be
Dawg as a solo main, my teamates think im being toxic by keeping them on first hook for a bit and doing a gen 😭
Yep me too
In short:
Annoying acts that serve you no gameplay purpose = Toxic
Annoying things that actually serve gameplay purpose = Acceptable
(Although still annoying so depends on intention I guess)
2k hours, surv main
I think about 200 hours of mine was all killer
My opinion, toxic is mocking the person. So, hitting on hook multiple times, humping/teabagging and shaking head constantly (depending on situation) and the closing hatch infront of people - that's toxic from killer
Toxic from surv, clicking flashlights and teabagging, and spam vaulting
For both sides, abusing game bugs that aren't supposed to be there then mocking the otherside, it doesn't make you better it's sad..
Toxic isn't tunneling, camping, or slugging.
Toxic isn't doing gens
Toxic isn't chasing someone
It's playing the game and using the game mechanics that are there (such as sabo, slugging, flashlights and flashbangs, having aura builds or gen builds)
I'm aware gens are a current problem bc the devs aren't too good at balancing them. I personally think we should revert the healing perks and medkits, and make gens harder to do.
imagine maining survivor
@xenkai-q7l imagine caring what other people play, as if this game doesn't depend on having mains on both side 🤡
@user-q4t9c yeah, but it's pressure, it happens. It's frustrating but unless it's at 4 or 5 gens idc
Also if someone is toxic it doesn't mean you have to respond with toxicity
Don't have to, but it also entirely warrants it when reciprocal
That’s exactly what it means 😂
5:53 not rly? sometimes killer shake head cuz hes happy that he catch someone, i do that sometimes
gen rushing is a thing, but its a game mechanic problem and perks not anyones tbh
10:13 sometimes the reason is to trigger the killer, if someone who loops very good does that, the chances are it was technique to lure a killer not be toxic, the rest is just toxic, depends. if its not toxic usually it happens just at the beggining of the chase or something and then there is not rly stuff like that. its attention seeking, and if someone is looper god then its understandable.
Yeah I don't think head shaking is toxic. It doesn't even waste time either, like are those 2 seconds THAT needed?
the only time i hit a survivor on hook is when i think theres a person unhooking but then realize that they are leaving his to die longer
Okay, as a guy that comes and goes to this game on a whim here are my 2 cents about toxicity in this game: *You all are way too oversensitive.*
As a Killer the whole objective is to sacrifice a team of four players that have to outsmart and outplay me.
(Should have "killed" all the male pieces first you bigot!)
Or imagine getting upset in a match of Unreal Tournament (pick one) because people keep nabbing the shield belt and flack cannon before you can get it. (They are YOUR favorite!)
Or imagine in Among Us accusing the Impostor of tunnelling.
As a casual Killer main let me tell you one thing:
Shit I do isn't that deep.
TL;DR:
Breathe. Take a step back.
Not everything revolves around you and by extension not everybody wants to make your day miserable.
The other players probably just goof around because they are a horror fan playing a horror game with their favorite horror monster in it.
And that's probably *all* there is to this.
Slugging may not be toxic but its lame as fuck. As an old school killer main who plays survivor now, I KNOW you're bad if you slug.
3:03 The issue with this is the " go next" epidemic that this game has. If you leave someone on hook too long, there's a good chance they will DC
Sure you could save a teammate but there are many ways to counter a save from a flashlight.
dude yeah same i run lightborn every build theres no way im downing a survivor after 30 seconds and getting flash saved
Most toxic thing to do is get everyone down within 2/3min of the game as nurse
Unfortunately on every toxicity related discussion on this game it devolves into an echo-chamber. Ofc here people will agree that the made-up rules some survivors and killers follow are bs but in other places it's a circlejerk of "WAHH WAAAH WAAAAH SLUGGING SHOULD BE BANNABLE WAAAAH" or "WAAAAAH 10320432042 SECOND CHANCE PERKS"
Also hitting survivors on hook once is not toxic seeing as survivors like Steve and Lara Croft are scream queens and blow my eardrums out every time I play.
If you haven’t already and you enjoy the content come follow me on Twitch! www.twitch.tv/CamsSpookyCorner
Emoting can be really good survivor technique not to back flip when you get hit. This helps at both the exit gate and also to reach a pallet
i'm just happy flashlight clicking is gone. that used to be the most unnecassary shit
Im more annoyed if my team mates let me go 2nd hook and have made no progressm, than my anything the killer does
Nice video, I appreciate how you were consistent with your idea of toxicity being wasting time with a player or the game itself.
It’s not rlly toxic bc there wasting time doing goofy shi
9:31 that isn't toxic. If the team needs to save someone from being permanently killed then they have the rights to
i might be wrong but i think dead by daylight suffer from its change of direction, i started playing the game on release and at first it was more of a party game that you would play with friend ,back in the day the killer was very strong and the gameplay was more of a hide and seek kind of game and this is when the survivor/killer rulebook was put in place because a party game is meant to be played for fun. but now the game feel more like a competion game both side are pretty balenced and no need for those survivor/killer rulebook no more the rest like the teabagging/flashlight clicking/mori in front of the hatch/dropping near the hatch then closing it. it is just bad manner and since the target public is competitive now we cant escape that, personally i havent seen a competitive game that didnt have a toxic community to this day
yeah half of these are completely off base, for instance survivors group bodyblocking isnt toxic? It's bad strategy but it's still strategy. Same with like killer nodding- thats just silly fun. You ever seen a deathslinger nod while reeling in? It's funny to look at. Gives the killer personality.
he's got 500 hours, he's still a baby player lol
I think it's context. Imagine having a rough game already, and finally getting a down. Only to have everyone body block you 😅
I think it's funny, a few days ago I played customs (xbox, made a group post) and bc the ppl were always trying super hard, with flashlights, gen rushing, and taking hits, I ran mad grit. Omg the rage the 1 guy had, "SLUGGING, SHES SLUGGING" 😂😂
But in that case I understand it being toxic, cuz if I didn't have mad grit, they alr took 3 downs from me (flashlight saved or picked up when I was trying to hit them to get them away) so at 2 gens that was my first hook, if I didn't have mad grit it would of been 0
But I ended up winning 😊
now i cant speak for the humping and everything, don't the leaving them on the ground is because we don't know if someone has unbreakable, or DS or anything liek this, imagine you 4 slugged, you pick up a surv, the guy on the ground pops his unbreakable and by the time you drop your survivor or hook to chase the survivor, he has picked up the rest of his team or certainly at least one of them. which starts the game all over again, killers leave them on the ground so 1 they cant even use DS, and 2 if someone does pop unbreakable you have the highest chance of countering the perk, its a boring way of dealing with it, but killers dont just leave them on the ground just becuase they can drag the game out. Well most i would say don't.
I slugged an adam on hawkins who was running a super toxic unhookable build
I have been targeted before because I played Sable she's my main character. I get tunneled a lot and slugs because of it. One time I asked why they tunneled me and they just said because I was playing Sable😅
Same happened to Yui
My first main was mikaela but I switched bc they changed her boons and I didn't like many of her cosmetics at the time. I mained yui all the way up til the mystic tome. I had just p100 her, only to become a target bc people didn't like that she get a 2nd tome
I went back to mikaela, now I STILL face hate but not as bad as yui (ppl hate her bc she got about 5 cosmetics in 1 year)
Somebody explain to me what is special about Sable or Dwight.
As a killer I just go for whoever I happen to find and can catch so I don't even realistically know the differences in Survivor characters, especially since you can run all perks on all Suvs.
Shaking my head is because if you tried something cheeky like a locker save. You're getting nopers lol
Erm.
2:12 thats a dumb way of tunneling and the fact he lost that game proves it
Glad I don't play this. So many rules to follow besides don't cheat. Make sure to babysit all the other people in the lobby so everyone can have a good time. These players are as entitled as league of legends players, and as sensitive as overwatch players
Couldn’t agree more!
this is how spineless dbd players are
He's survivor sided Sabo hooks and blinding the killer isn't toxic and gen rushing isn't toxic but a killer slugging and tunneling is considered toxic well I'll be a toxic killer then thank you I'll will continue making survivors quit and rage
Griefing and ruining the game for someone is toxic, and ofc death threats etc. in the endgame chat
survivors can slug in the corner of the map just because they don't want the killer to mori, and make them wait out the entire bleedout timer
@ don't forget hiding all game ruins the game for their fellow survivors as well, not just the killer
why is group body blocking toxic? they are increasing your hit time from 30 secs average to 3, they are throwing the game
As I told someone else, it's situational
If a killer is down to 2 gens after a long and hard chase or ppl getting flashlight saves. Only for everyone to take hits, it feels too harsh on the killer. Like it's unnecessary which makes it seem toxic
It's equal to Bubba face camping, you can't do anything
The DBD community needs to listen to people like you :)
DBD Community dont even listen to themselves half the time lol
@@Bubbles0seven Oh o-o
Idk man Flashlights in the hands of some survivors can be toxic. I've been flashed when I go past lockers and survivors jump out using head on, and sometimes it's not just one survivor but multiple for no reason.
It's not flashlights, it's bully squads 😅
Also false accusations. Players especially survivors, need to stop accusing killers of everything. I had a player dm me after the match daying that i tunneled her. But in reality when i firat hooked her i couldve tunneled her but actively chose to not chase her and went after the other person near. Then i found her later on a gen with someone else. That someone lese saw me and ran off but she didnt see me and stayed on the gen so clearly I went after her. She hadnt even healed yet. But she got mad and called me a tunneler.
Just type hahahaha. Like just embarrass them
Well, this is going to be interesting...
I’ll play very toxic if they ask for it lmao.
Aka if a steamer is bitching and moaning
Some times, I see Survivors doing awesome plays and Id love a way to indicate, hey that was call. I try nodding, but who knows how they take it.
Nodding after someone does something, they normally understand, or I like to stare then slowly nod my head 😅
Anything that people don't want happening to their character :))
LOL pride flag tunneling? f'd up but hilarious, didn't know that was a thing
5:45 though. People like a killer who "has personality" and emotes a bit during the gameplay, I'd say this head shaking isn't too bad.
Wym everyone that plays this game has a pride flag😂
11:18 meow
It’s the flash lighting constantly not just at a pallet or to save
Follow me other places!
